BOO BOO as part of an emergency kit!

My friend Michelle gave me a little bag of healing "goodies" that replicated the ones she had put together for her own children this past Christmas. All that was lacking in my bag was a tin of Boo Boo, which she had included in the ten bags she assembled. Thanks Michelle! I feel more prepared and think Boo Boo should be in everyone's emergency kit.

I keep a tin in my purse, one in the car, one by the sink in the kitchen and one in my bathroom. This means that when I see chapped skin on one of my grandchildren on goes the Boo Boo or a scratch the Boo Boo is handy.

What do I do with Boo Boo?

I have just made an information card for the stores to display with my Boo Boo cream. I was thinking it looked pretty sweet-clever, some creativity and definitely an introduction to this all encompassing product. I found plastic frames that worked with
the layout and so took my papers to the local printer where I happily encased them in plastic and I was "ready" to go!

This morning as I was about to deliver to Cecilia's Lifestyle Institution shop I realized that I had misspelled eczema!! Why do I always think there is an X instead of a C?

End of the Year

It is difficult to believe that 2010 is almost over. The world still seems pretty crazy and on a personal level, sometimes my life seems pretty crazy too! BUT 2010 brought amazing blessings into my life, growth and understanding and hopefully a bit of wisdom. The top of the list were 4 healthy, darling grand-babies; 2 boys and 2 girls, making me the grandmother of 30! It does sound like a lot. As a man I had dinner with said: "Thirty is a whole classroom." They are infintley better than a classroom.

As my friends and I are always commenting; "the children coming to earth these days are quicker to learn, superb altheletes, brilliant muscians, creative wonders and physically gorgeous." We "all" agree! But then, we are the grandmothers.

I have started making new goals for 2011 and dusting some off from 2010 to renew and implement in my life. It is a wonderful time of year. At present I need to put Boo Boo on a nasty accident on my leg and get to work cleaning up from the Christmas delights of family and a wedding on the 22nd.

You think my house is dirty?

Boo Boo to the "rescue!"

I had a party at my house Tuesday evening for a women's group I belong to. One of my friends had fallen on her stairs Sunday evening ripping her toe pretty seriously. In true pioneer fashion and the fact that the emergency room is a complete zoo on weekend nights, she soaked it, butterflied it closed and put some other lovely herbs on it.

I gave her a tin of Boo Boo and some tincture I had made for bruising with the hope that another time they might help. I called a day later to see how her toe was doing and was delighted to hear that she had put Boo Boo on it with significant healing in the night!

Once again the healing herbs of comfrey, lavender, calendula and the miracle of essential oils have worked their magic!

Comfrey & Lavender covered in snow

The comfrey and lavender plants in my garden, as well as the perennial flowers and bulbs are covered in a blanket of snow. It is always a surprise to me that one day there are bees on the lavender and the next I am slipping on the driveway covered in ice. I planted my rosemary next to the house with the hopes of it surviving the winter, but it definitely looks like it has hit the dust. With a few nights at zero and many in the single digits that was a bit too much to expect. But, there will always be Spring and time to plant more.

The Idea Room: Thankful Rolls

I have tried various ways to have the family verbalize their gratitude on Thanksgiving Day. When my children were younger we had a "thankful box" where the children would put in little notes about their siblings and parents to be read at the Thanksgiving table. Often we would have guests tell about favorite Thanksgiving memories or traditions. For a few years we had a program with flannel board stories, musical number, poems and little plays about the holiday complete with hats and a few costumes. The last few years I have put 3 pieces of dried corn by each person's plate. As the meal gets going we go around the table with each person putting a corn in the middle of the table and telling everyone what they are grateful for. There can be no repeats in gratitude ideas and by the third round ideas become 'creative' and often heartwarming!

This morning I found these creative and fun rolls on "The Idea Room." It is definitely worth a try this Thanksgiving! Check it out!

making Dr. Christopher's anti-plague

More than 15 years ago a dear lady by the name of Mildred gave me a copy of Dr. Christopher's anti-plague formula. She studied herbs with Dr. Christopher many years ago, I think more than 70 years, and had been in attendance in his class when someone asked him what to do if a plague like the Black flu came back. He rattled off a list of herbs to be made into a formula. Mildred said later he called one of the students in the class that had written the formula down and asked for a copy. He was given this formula of herbs under inspiration at the moment the question was asked.

Mildred was always encouraging me to learn more about herbs. I grew to love and admire Mildred, but it was not until last week that I MADE the anti-plague "mess." She warned me it would stink! As I warmed each herb slowly in distilled water, extremely slowly and then drained off the herbs saving the liquid to "slowly, very slowly" cook down to 1/4 the contents. I thought; this isn't so bad. I poured this mixture in a quart jar, covered it and stored it in my fridge. Which is an extreme accomplishment on its own! My fridge is full. Perhaps 'full' does not convey the intended meaning-stuffed would be more accurate. I remind my children that it is not bits and pieces, but mostly vegetables from my garden-beets, carrots, kale, green beans, squash, cucumbers, apples, pears and peaches from my neighbor. Yes, I do live alone. But my fridge is much too small and I mostly eat fresh. Not a lot of room for an extra jar. By the time I got to the twelfth jar, I moved the apples outside and rejoiced that I do not refrigerate the tomatoes.

This process took several days. I forgot to mention the garlic slurry in my cool storage room that needed to sit for 4 days while I processed the rest of the herbs. Finally I was ready to mix all together. Did I mention that I had borrowed a large kettle from my daughter Jennifer, because mine was not big enough. I combined all with the honey and "slowly, very slowly" heated up my, sure to "heal the world mix," and actually got it in quart jars (yes, plural, because I was making some for a friend and I do have 7 children and 26 grandchildren), without spilling too much. Put my jars in the basement, cleaned the floor and stove and rejoiced!

The next day I did a thorough cleaning of my fridge, you know, take out all the drawers and shelves and really scrub. It is not a job I enjoy doing. I FOUND ONE MORE BOTTLE! I had counted and counted. This seems to be a skill I am loosing.

Downstairs I went, to retrieve the bottles, pour all back in Jennifer's large pot, along with the forgotten bottle and "slowly, very slowly" warmed up the "mix," which I was now calling it, the entire time trying not to have negative thoughts. Once again, re bottled, carried downstairs to storage room, washed stove, pots and floor.

I have now shared with my children, given my friend hers and hoped I would never repeat this process.BUT, then again, we will be prepared for the Plague, should it come our way.

About This Blog

Blogging is new for me, but I am excited to share with you Muno Body Products information. My products are made from natural and organic herbs, oils and bees wax. With 30 grandchildren I wanted something that was healing, soothing and safe. Boo Boo was made to help heal their chapped cheeks, lips and knuckles, hang nails, and scratches. I started to give it to friends, as did my children and the results have been remarkable! My daughters and their friends have been using it on diaper rash, chapped cheeks and hands, excema, and scratches for the past 4 years with great success.

Use Boo Boo on clean skin--it heals quickly. It is not meant for open wounds and a little goes a long way. Most people have found it very soothing and remarkably healing.
